Development of synthetic methods for polymers and polymer-based systems involving formation of supramolecular structures that possess non-linear optical and photoconductive properties. Preparation of polymer nanocomposites and studies of their properties in energy-saturated media. Investigation of the influence of supramolecular ordering and self-organization in polymer systems on their photophysical properties.
Development of a new concept of chemical construction of specific polyfunctional monomer-oligomer systems that participate in series-parallel cascade reactions and yield numerous high-technology thermosetting polymers with valuable properties (for example, rolivsans). Development of scientific bases for the preparation of a new type of heat and chemically resistant, mechanically stable network polymers; design of composite materials on the basis of these polymers that will be capable of changing their chemical, topological, and supramolecular structure and properties during heat and/or catalytic treatment.
