Head of the Laboratory: Aleksandr Pavlovich Filippov, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, chief researcher
Study of molecular properties of polymers, intermolecular and intramolecular interactions in solutions and anisotropic melts. Establishing the relationship between chemical structure of polymers and properties of individual macromolecules; study of interactions between macromolecules in solutions, between macromolecules and solvent molecules; analysis of anisotropic order of polymer solutions, study of formation of supramolecular associates in polymer solutions.
Lines of research:
Main experimental methods (hydrodynamic and optical methods): static light scattering; dynamic light scattering; analysis of polarization of the scattered light; flow birefringence; sedimentation velocity analytical ultracentrifugation; translational diffusion; viscometry, etc.
